The Name above all Names

There is nothing you can say, there's nothing you can do that will make Jesus stop loving you. You've got his name written on you and you belong to Him. He's in love with you and He made you to be with Him forever. No matter how you feel right now, Jesus is real and will bring you to Him someday. He says so in a conversation with the father in John 17:24:
17:24 “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they can see my glory that you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the world. 17:25 Righteous Father, even if the world does not know you, I know you, and these men know that you sent me. 17:26 I made known your name to them, and I will continue to make it known, so that the love you have loved me with may be in them, and I may be in them.”
Let the love of God fill you right now. Jesus has promised to come and take you home to Him. Until that time, He's going to continue to make the name of God known to you.

The names of God reveal His character. Think about these ways that He names himself:
  • A strength to the needy in his distress
  • A strength to the poor
  • A judge of the widows
  • A jealous God
  • A just God and a Savior
  • A hiding place from the wind
  • A high priest of good things to come
  • A place of broad rivers and streams
  • A nail in a sure place
  • A man of war
  • A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief
  • A sun and shield
  • A strong tower from the enemy
  • A very present help in trouble
  • A wall of fire round about
  • Bright and morning star
  • God alone
  • He that calls you
  • He that reveals secrets
His love for you is real. It doesn't matter what you did yesterday. He wants you to be with Him forever and ever. He wants you to learn about Him starting now.

"A nail in a sure place."

That's a lovely image. Where is that?

It's from Isaiah 22:23, and it may be taking some liberty, but some ascribe that description to Christ prophetically. Anyhow, I agree that its a great picture, of having a nail fastened and all the small things hang from it. All the small things like us :)
