He never stops working

Phillipians 1:6 (The Message Translation):

There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.

Jesus came to earth 2000 years ago thinking of you! In order for you to live with Him and see Him face to face, he had to conquer sin and death. He came and walked the countryside, teaching and serving. He had no place to sleep often. He confronted the leaders and did the right thing when it wasn't popular or easy. He was put in compromising situations but only ever did the right thing. He resisted all the temptations and lies that were thrown at Him. He suffered a horrible death and rose again from the dead in glory.

As you start to think through was Jesus' experience was like while here on earth, you have to think that he had a hard life. He worked every day for you and the hope of being with you. Jesus has done the work! He's done all the work needed for us all to live with Him forever. There's nothing we can add to what He did when He came.

Jesus has done the work, now you need to partake in His nature, to become more and more holy and righteous like Him. Abide in Him and you will be transformed, not because of your sweat but His. Read scriptures daily and you'll shun evil, not because of your will but His. Pray throughout your day and you will overcome temptation not because of your holiness but His.

He began the work and He will bring it to a flourishing finish someday. He came here to work, and today His work continues in you and through you. Get yourself in step with Him right now and watch Him continue a great work in your life.
